SIMI VALLEY : Dump Site Reopens for Quake Debris

A Simi Valley free dumping site for earthquake debris is reopening today.
The city decided to reopen the site, which has been closed since February, to assist residents who are repairing damage caused by the Jan. 17 earthquake.
The site, located on Alamo Street near Tapo Canyon Road, will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Nov. 5.
Residents must unload their own vehicles and present a driver’s license with a local address or other proof of residency.
Materials that will be accepted include block walls, concrete, asphalt, brick, stucco, Sheetrock and plaster.
Dumping of appliances, yard waste, tires, hazardous waste and household trash will not be allowed. For more information, call 583-6753.
