Woman, 80, Killed in Hit and Run
An 80-year-old Sherman Oaks woman was killed Tuesday by a hit-and-run driver as she crossed the parking area of a small shopping plaza, authorities said.
Selma Lebovitz was struck by a car identified only as a beige or tan Chevrolet Nova that was headed north at the time of the 3 p.m. accident, according to witnesses, said Officer Bill Mulvihill of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The mini-mall is on the southwest corner of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Erwin Street, Mulvihill said.
Lebovitz was pronounced dead at North Hollywood Medical Center, he said.
