Simpson Murder Case : Friday’s Witnesses

Gregory Matheson, a supervisor at the Los Angeles Police Department crime lab. In his second day on the stand, said blood found at the scene of the crime matches some characteristics of O.J. Simpson’s blood and that 0.43% of the population could be expected to have the same type. On cross-examination, he acknowledged that 40,000 to 80,000 people in Los Angeles might have blood that would also match.

Dr. Irwin L. Golden, deputy medical examiner for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. Testified that both victims suffered multiple knife wounds, with Nicole Brown Simpson’s throat deeply slashed and Ronald Lyle Goldman stabbed in the head, throat, chest, abdomen, thigh and hands. Also suggested for the first time that two weapons might have been used.
