Boy, 6, Suffers Minor Injuries in Hit-and-Run
A 6-year-old boy received minor injuries Saturday when he darted from an apartment and was struck by a hit-and-run driver.
Benjamin Aguilera of Stanton suffered minor injuries to his left leg in the 2:06 p.m. hit-and-run, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez said. The boy was taken by paramedics to Anaheim General Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Mendez said the boy ran into the street from the Continental Gardens apartment complex, 8101 W. Cerritos Ave., and was struck by an older-model Chevrolet Camaro. The male driver did not stop and was last seen driving westbound on Cerritos Avenue, he said.
Investigators are looking for the driver and the car. Witnesses were able to get only a partial license number of the car.
