More than 9,000 sparrows migrating from Europe and Africa have been found dead along Brazil's northern coastline, a Brazilian newspaper reported Sunday. Remains of plastic were found in the birds' stomachs, leading scientists to conclude that ocean pollution was a main cause of the sparrows' death, the newspaper said.
