Bass Action Unaffected by the Heat

Share

Some things never change . . .

Trout fisheries might be suffering because of the heat, and catfish fisheries might be coming on for the same reason, but the Southland’s two primary bass fisheries seem unfazed by the weather.

Andy Andrews of Oxnard showed it is as easy to land a trophy-sized bass as it was in early spring at Lake Casitas, pulling a 10-pound 3-ounce bass and another 7-12 fish out of the Ventura County reservoir. Mike Carpenter of Canyon Country made it look even easier at Castaic Lake, landing three fish over the 10-pound mark, none at 12-5.
