BURBANK : Bowman to Head Airport Authority

Share

Longtime Commissioner Brian Bowman of Burbank has been named new president of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, which oversees Burbank Airport.

Bowman, previously the authority’s vice president, was elected unanimously by commissioners this week. He succeeds Robert W. Garcin of Glendale, who headed the panel for 10 years and remains a commissioner.

Replacing Bowman as vice president is Carl Raggio Jr. of Glendale. The new secretary is Joyce A. Streator of Pasadena, a new commissioner and the only woman on the nine-member body.

Bowman’s term as president will last one year. An executive with a plumbing supply company, he has served on the commission since 1986, representing the city of Burbank. Each of the three cities that oversee the airport appoints three commissioners, who serve four-year terms.
