WORLD CUP USA ‘94: SEMIFINALS : Spotlight : BARGAIN SHOPPING

Share

A surprising number of tickets were available less than half an hour before Rose Bowl game time Wednesday to those willing to shop among the scalpers.

And there were hundreds of empty seats when the game began.

Brothers Kieran, Justin and Dominic Walsh shopped for quite a while before snaring three $90 seats for $50 each.

“We’ve been here about an hour, and (the price) is going down all the time,” said Kieran, the oldest of the three at 27. “We’ve been going around to games since Ireland went out (was eliminated). We’ve always paid less than face value.”

The brothers are from Ireland but now live in England.
