How well did World Cup ’94 do financially?

Well, that will take months to determine, but according to sources Sunday, there were a couple of indications that this event ended up with loads of black ink.

Saturday night’s Three Tenors concert at Dodger Stadium, sponsored by the World Cup, generated $12.2 million in gross revenue. Sunday’s World Cup final at the Rose Bowl, between Brazil and Italy, generated slightly more than $45 million.
