As if losing the World Cup to Brazil wasn’t bad enough, the Italians are missing cash, jewelry and other items.
Authorities in Warren Township, N.J., said the rooms of Roberto Baggio and 12 of his teammates at the Somerset Hills Hotel were broken into while the team was beating Bulgaria, 2-1, in the semifinals at Giants Stadium on Wednesday.
About $30,000 in cash was taken, along with watches and sunglasses, Somerset County Prosecutor Nicholas Bissell Jr. said.
