Frenchman Scales 40 Stories of Skyscraper
Alain Robert, a tourist from France described by police as a frustrated mountain climber, was arrested after scaling 40 stories of a Chicago skyscraper.
Robert, 32, told police that he was bored with the traditional tourist attractions and decided to utilize his climbing skills Sunday to get a more interesting view of the city. Using only gloves and perseverance, he made his 45 minute-climb using a window-washing track built into the side of the 50-story structure.
Robert, who said he was from Valence, France, was released on a $100 bond after he was charged with trespassing.
