Roger Craig, who caught more passes than any other NFL running back, will leave the NFL with the same team that brought him in.

Craig said he will sign with the San Francisco 49ers the first week of August, then immediately announce his retirement.

“I’ve had a great run,” Craig told the Quad City Times of Davenport, Iowa. “Now it’s time to move on.”

Craig spent his first eight seasons as a pro with the 49ers and helped them win three Super Bowls. He played for the Raiders in 1991 and spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
