A former Oxnard man was arrested in Huntington Park on suspicion of killing Guillermo Ortega at Community Center Park in Oxnard five years ago, an Oxnard police spokesman said Saturday.

Jose Villa, 28, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday by Huntington Park police after a warrant was issued and signed by Ventura County Superior Court Judge Melinda Johnson, the spokesman said. Oxnard homicide investigators said an anonymous tipster led police to Villa, who also goes by the alias Jorge Luna. The homicide investigation dates back to June 18, 1989, when Ortega was slain at Community Center Park.

Villa was taken to Oxnard and then booked into the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of murder, a jail spokesman said. His bail was set at $250,000.
