Montreal Offense Too Much, Shuts Out Salsa

Share

The Salsa could not find the goal against the Montreal Impact, losing 2-0 in an American Professional Soccer League game Wednesday in front of 3,246 at Claude Robillard Stadium in Montreal.

Montreal’s Lloyd Barker scored the first goal, which was unassisted, 22 minutes into the game and the Impact’s second goal came after its top scorer, Jean Harbor, kicked in the ball from the right corner at the 56-minute mark.

Although the Salsa had some scoring opportunities, it was Pat Harrington’s work in goal that shut down the Salsa. The Salsa drops to 3-4 and Montreal is 4-3.

The Salsa has added a road game because the Houston Force had its APSL membership revoked by the league’s Board of Directors. The Salsa will play Sept. 2 in Montreal.
