Clarifying Sponsorship of Neighborhood Tour

Regarding the Times article “Tour Revisits Roots of Jewish L.A.” that ran July 23:
Andrea Heiman’s great article has the phones ringing off the hook here and we greatly appreciate it, of course. There was, however, one inadvertent inaccuracy. The Jewish L.A. tour was correctly attributed to the University of Judaism, the event’s sponsor, but is not one of the university’s regular monthly tours. The guided visit to old neighborhoods is offered monthly by the Jewish Historical Society. Periodic jointly sponsored programs, such as the one described, are a part of the year-round educational tour program offered by the university’s continuing education department.
