Where Are They Now? : MIKE MARSHALL

An eccentric right-hander who holds a doctorate in kinesiology, Marshall relieved in a record 106 games in 1974--his first year with the Dodgers--leading the club to the pennant and earning the Cy Young Award. Beset by injuries in 1975, his 14 losses in relief set another record and he was traded to Atlanta.

Until recently, Marshall was the baseball coach and a physical education professor at West Texas A&M.; His contract was not renewed in June, and the grievance he filed was turned down on Monday. At 51, he still pitches regularly in a semi-pro league and also works as a consultant for several major league clubs.
