Body Part Found in Car Just a ‘Hand-Me-Down’

AUSTIN, Tex. —
A human hand found in an car glove compartment by a mechanic was “handed down as a family heirloom” and not evidence of foul play, police said Tuesday. The hand was originally owned by a retired University of Montreal anatomy professor who told police it was a “quirky hand-me-down” now owned by his granddaughter, Austin police said.
