Venice Beach to Host Free ‘Arts Fest ‘94’
The jazz sextet Strange Fruit with guest vocalist TC Carson, Bahian-Brazilian musicians Meia Noite and the Midnight Drummers, the alternative rock group Bag O’Fred, Cajun-blues performers Deja Voo’doo, rapper F. I. E., and musicians Venetian Blindz, Ramona Sweeney and I. Timothy are among the scheduled performers for “Arts Fest ‘94,” to be held Aug. 27-28 at the Venice Beach Pavilion.
The free festival, which runs from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, also features solo dancer Lisa Gains, the children from Venice’s Pearl White Theater and the Cambodian dance troupe Souplin. Local visual artists will also be represented with exhibitions of painting, sculpture and photography.
