BREA : Fest Boasts an Array of Art, Music, Food

The city’s cultural arts programs will be showcased at “Brea Fest, a Taste of the Arts.”

Admission is free to this annual event, which is scheduled for 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Brea Civic and Cultural Center.

Music will be performed on three outdoor stages that evening. Featured will be country-Western music by High Noon, reggae by Trinidad and Tobago Showboat, and Motown tunes by the Derek Bordeaux Group.

Classical guitarists and a comedian also will appear.

Theatrical performances will be presented by the Brea Civic Light Opera, the Brea Youth Theatre, Prism Productions and the Vanguard Theatre Ensemble.

Also appearing will be dancers from the Brea Dance Center and from Imperial Dance Studios. Recording artist Dave Kinnoin will perform children’s music.

Among the art displays scheduled for Brea Fest is an exhibit titled “Inspirations: Art by the Physically and Mentally Challenged.”

Food and beverages for sale at the event have been donated by Orange County restaurants and food distributors.

All proceeds will support Brea’s cultural arts programs.
