Summer Wanes, but Fun Hasn’t at Big Bear Lake
The high-profile activity at Big Bear Lake this weekend will be the National Mountain Bike Championships, but Cliff Fowler of Big Bear Sporting Goods advises that the fishing--unusually good for so late in the summer--shouldn’t be overlooked.
“It’s incredible,” Fowler said. “You would think by the trout activity that they aren’t looking at the calendar. Normally, we’d be singing the summer blues. We’re still nailing ‘em.”
Highlight of the day, Fowler said, is the crowd that gathers on the docks at Gray’s Landing on the north side for the hot evening bite.
