HEALTH : Fair Offers Checkups for Children

Share

It may not be your average fair with rides and prizes, but it will help ensure your child’s good health. It is the 5th annual Kids Care Fair, at which children ages 2 months to 4 years can receive free immunizations to protect them from polio, tetanus, measles and other preventable childhood diseases.

Children through age 18 can also have a free basic health screening that includes blood pressure, vision and hearing tests.

“The recent increase of tuberculosis cases and prevalence of other preventable childhood diseases unfortunately acts as a reminder of the importance of immunizing children before the age of 2,” said Joan McCandless, project director of Kids Care Fair.
