To Repent Is Human; Is to Err Divine?

Re: The book review of “Galileo, A Life” (“A New Spin on Galileo, Science and the Catholic Church,” Aug. 15):
In October, 1992, the Roman Catholic Church formally admitted 350 years after the fact (!) that it had erred in condemning Galileo Galilei . . .
Does this imply that, in the year 2344, the Church may finally admit error in its late 20th-Century views toward abortion, contraception and the out-of-control growth of world population?
Or would it be by then, perhaps, too late?
