OXNARD : Boy Who Fell Into Pool Dies at Hospital
A 13-month-old boy who fell into a swimming pool at his Oxnard apartment complex has died, authorities said Friday.
Connor Bazillion, who fell into the pool Wednesday afternoon at Oxnard Shores at 5090 Nautilus St., was pronounced dead at 9:44 p.m. Thursday in the pediatric intensive care unit at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, representative Carla Brunstead said.
Fire Capt. Curt Bensen, whose unit responded to the 911 call, said a man at the unit had dived into the pool after seeing the baby in the water. Dispatchers helped people at the scene in attempts to revive the child with CPR, Bensen said.
According to witness accounts, the child had wandered out of his apartment while his mother had slept. His father was identified as Paul Bazillion.
