OUTLOOK

Olson calls this his best team in seven seasons at Kennedy. And he’s got plenty of reasons to be excited, though the Fighting Irish, Garden Grove champions last year, will be competing in a more balanced league. They will rely on Myles to replace MVP quarterback Chris Clark, who graduated. Myles will have a potent backfield with Marino and Martineau and a group of receivers, most notably Clark and Roman. Myles will also have the benefit of a strong and experienced offensive line with Schaper, Tow and Lutui. Defensive end Varga returns, but hard-hitting Ellison might be more feared. “He could hit a car going 40 miles per hour and it wouldn’t faze him,” Olson said. The coach also has high hopes for sophomore Garrett Sabol.
