Buhler Rushes for 248 Yards, Five Touchdowns
Southern California Christian running back Ken Buhler rushed for 248 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-0 victory over Maui Kaahumanu Hou late Friday at Maui War Memorial Stadium.
Buhler, a senior running back, carried 12 times and scored on runs of 30, 12, 8, 72 and 16 yards. His five rushing touchdowns were one short of the Orange County record shared by SCC graduate Mike Jacot, who did it in 1991 against Capistrano Valley Christian. Quarterback Steve Schinhofen scored the Flames’ other touchdown on a one-yard run.
SCC (1-0) outgained Kaahumanu Hou (0-2) on the ground, 360 to minus-seven. Ron Wood rushed six times for 74 yards and Jeremy Smith had two carries for 48 yards.
