The county’s amusement parks, beaches and other attractions really draw people.

In 1993, 37.8 million people visited Orange County during vacations or for business.

Travel generated $4.8 billion in 1993 and brought in $71 million in local tax revenue, according to the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau.

Thousands of people are supported by the travel business, from hotel workers to printers.

Among the top draws are Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and the coastal areas around Newport Beach and the South County area.

Today

Newport Beach’s SeaFest celebration continues today with a food tasting event and an antique show.

The Taste of Newport, which costs $6 per person, runs from 5 to 11 p.m. It includes food samples from 34 local restaurants as well as live music. The Antique Seafair exhibit and sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

An exhibit also will be presented at Newport Beach’s Nautical Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The SeaFest is being held at locations throughout Newport Beach.
