Volunteers Needed--The Sea and Sage Audubon Society is looking for a few good men and women to assist with outdoor educational programs at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine.

Volunteer naturalists will assist groups of 12 to 16 grade-school children with identification of birds and pond life during two-hour tours of the wetlands. Skills needed include a love for the environment, enthusiasm and a basic knowledge of birds and plants.

It isn’t necessary to be an expert naturalist to volunteer. In fact, Sea and Sage is offering a training program to help all volunteers become familiar with the flora and fauna of the wildlife sanctuary. Topics covered in the training sessions include wetlands, water, pond species, bird identification and biology and outdoor education skills.

To sign up, contact Sea and Sage at (714) 261-7963. Leave your name, phone number and mailing address. There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of a training manual and other materials.
