Huntington Beach was rocked by unrest on the Fourth of July as hundreds of revelers burned objects and thronged downtown streets. Disturbances resulted in clashes with police. Below are some facts and figures released by the city:

* 183 police officers as well as 30 sergeants, six lieutenants, one captain and the police chief worked that night.

* $171,369.41 was spent for extra police services that night.

* 222 people were arrested.

* At least 5,000 gallons of water was sprayed to disperse revelers.

Today

The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce will host an open forum for Newport Beach City Council candidates and other local office seekers at its monthly meeting, which starts at 11:30 a.m.

The $14 admission includes a noon luncheon. There will be discussions with more than 20 candidates for the Newport Beach City Council, Newport-Mesa Unified School District board and Coastal Community College District.
