Pacific Sunwear of California Inc.: The company said Tuesday it plans to open as many as 50 new stores in 1995. After the proposed expansion, the company will have about 173 stores in more than 25 states. Most of the new stores will be opened in Midwestern, mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states. The Anaheim-based company hired Shelley Smith as its vice president of real estate to help direct the planned expansion. Smith previously worked at Natural Wonders Inc. and the Gymboree Corp. Pacific Sunwear also hired Ron Ehlers as vice president of information services. Ehlers was previously employed at Woman’s World Shops Inc., a women’s specialty retail chain.
