BRIEFLY : Quakes: Workshops Cover Safety Measures
Workshops on learning to reduce earthquake damage are now being held throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
The workshops address methods for strengthening a home’s foundation and preventive measures inside the home, including securing water heaters, furniture and cabinet drawers.
Sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the workshops are held at Earthquake Service Centers in various locations, including on the Westside, through Oct. 11.
