After 26 Years, Malibu Recycling Center Will Close
A drop-off recycling center on Civic Center Way will close Oct. 30 because there hasn’t been enough material collected there to keep the site operating.
The center, operated by a company called Recycle America, was created in 1968 and is believed to be one of the oldest recycling facilities in the nation. A citywide curbside recycling program went into effect in June, 1992, and a commercial recycling center opened this month.
