Huntington Beach

City Council meeting

When: Today, 6:30 p.m.

Where: City Council chambers, 2000 Main St.

What: The council will hold a public hearing to reconsider a plan to build an indoor swap meet that would hold 325 vendor spaces in an industrial building at 5555 McFadden Ave. The council also is scheduled to discuss plans for next year’s July 4 celebration. Members are expected to approve an official city response to the environmental impact report for the Bolsa Chica wetlands development. If approved, the response would be forwarded to the county.

Orange County

Board of Supervisors

When: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.

Where: County Hall of Administration, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana.

What: The board will discuss a plan that would allow residents to use credit cards to pay their property tax bills. The supervisors must decide whether to approve the plan as well as set transaction fees. The board also is scheduled to honor Tustin Presbyterian Church on its 100th anniversary and appoint members to the Coto de Caza Specific Plan Board of Review.

Tustin

City Council meeting

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Where: City Council chambers, 300 Centennial Way

What: The council will hold a public hearing on whether to grant a private patrol operator permit to Night & Day Security Patrol. Also on the agenda is a presentation by Orange County on the future of Lower Peters Canyon. In addition, the council will make a final decision on a proposal to move the next general municipal election to March 26, 1996. The change would make the municipal election coincide with the statewide primary. The council gave the measure initial approval last month.

San Juan

Capistrano

City Council meeting

When: Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Where: City Council chambers, 32400 Paseo Adelanto

What: The council will consider whether to oppose the Nov. 8 ballot initiative that calls for converting the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station into a commercial airport. The city of Dana Point has asked San Juan Capistrano to take a stand on the matter. Other South County city councils have passed resolutions opposing the initiative. The council also will consider strengthening the city’s vendor regulations in response to complaints from the homeowner associations of Capistrano Villas and Casa Capistrano.
