Movados, fourth in the wagering, upset favored Jumping Tac Flash in the $80,000 California Derby on Friday night, winning his second start and his first major stakes race.

Movados is owned by Legacy Ranch and trained by Brian Koriner, the same team that took Daily Triple to victory in the Governor’s Cup Derby in September.

Jockey Ralph Seville and Movados broke from post position eight in the 10-horse derby field, easily covering the 400 yards in 19.92 seconds. The Charlie Bloomquist-trained Moo Vin First finished second, beaten a half-length.
