CHATSWORTH : Docents to Expand Nature Activities
A new group that runs nature walks to teach schoolchildren about the outdoors needs volunteers for a training session Friday.
“We have a lot of history in our mountains,” said Debra Brandon, a volunteer with the Santa Susana Docents, which started holding nature and history walks in March.
The training session will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Chatsworth Park Visitors Center.
The group, with 12 members, has been working with local private schools and hopes to expand to 33 public elementary schools in western San Fernando Valley.
For more information, call Brandon at (818) 718-8179.
