Flags, poems and proclamations that were part of the ceremony surrounding Richard Nixon’s funeral are on display at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace.

In addition to the official proclamations from heads of state, the new exhibit, “Farewell Mr. President,” documents with photos the more than 50,000 people who endured rain and long waits to file past the former President’s coffin.

Also on display are the American flags presented by the military honor guard to Nixon’s family, poems written by admirers of the late President and the presidential announcement signed by President Clinton.
