LOS ANGELES : Season Ticket Holder Sues Dodgers for Refund

Share

A Los Angeles Dodgers fan sued the baseball club Thursday, contending that he and other season ticket holders deserve all their money back because the players’ strike made the 1994 season “meaningless.”

In his Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit, William Schellbach says the games he attended before the strike “turned out to be nothing more than meaningless exhibitions.” The Dodgers have refunded money for the canceled portion of the season.

Neither Schellbach’s lawyers nor a spokesman for the Dodgers could be reached for comment. Schellbach wants the court to accept his complaint as a class-action lawsuit on behalf of himself and up to 20,000 other season ticket holders.

Schellbach, who alleges that the Los Angeles Dodgers Inc. violated its contract to carry out “an entire baseball season,” wants either compensatory damages or a direct refund for his season tickets and parking passes.
