Channel Built to End Golf Course Flooding
Officials have announced the completion of a flood control channel they hope will be a long-term solution to a problem that has plagued the Shorecliffs golf course.
Winter storms in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s washed out parts of the golf club and adjoining neighborhood.
Under a public and private partnership, the Prima Deschecha Creek flood-control system was built.
Mayor Scott Diehl, other elected officials and representatives from federal, state and county agencies were on hand last week to see the creek waters being released in the low-flow habitat channel.
