Share

A status report on the large-scale revitalization of the Town Center area will be given to residents Nov. 14.

At 6 p.m., the city staff will discuss plans for Town Center, the commercial area between Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado Avenue.

The meeting will touch on the partnership between businesses and the city in deciding what the redesign should look like.

“One of the difficulties for Town Center is that a lot of the properties are smaller and fragmented,” city planner Lance Schulte said. “The parking lots are not interrelated, and that means customers coming to shop here go from one parking lot to another.”

Other subjects for discussion include creating business and public partnerships and establishing more resident workshops.

“We’ll be dealing with traffic circulation issues and street designs and laying the groundwork for step-by-step public workshops in the future,” Schulte said.
