HUNTINGTON BEACH : Mulcahy Does Want School Board Seat

Share

Ocean View school board candidate Eugene Mulcahy said this week that while he once intended to back out of the race, he is still running as a serious contender.

In an interview early last month, Mulcahy, 38, said he planned to leave his name on the ballot but not seriously campaign at the request of a teachers union that endorsed another candidate.

Mulcahy, a high school adaptive physical education teacher, said he changed his mind days later after receiving supportive calls from several dozen voters.

The other candidates for three seats on the Ocean View elementary school district board are incumbents Carol Kanode and Tracy Pellman, science consultant Bryan Bridges, businessman Gordon Busch, business consultant Jim Peters, homemaker Pam Walker and certified public accountant Daniel T. Villella.
