BURBANK : Elementary Students Hold Tree Planting

Share

The Los Angeles Equestrian Center and children from George Washington Elementary School in Burbank will hold a tree-planting ceremony at 2 p.m. Nov. 25 at the center.

About 20 third- and fifth-graders will plant native trees in a field at the center at 480 Riverside Drive to replace those removed because of disease.

The event will commemorate the Equestrian Center’s ongoing support of an environmental science park on the George Washington campus.

The park was built last year and is in the second phase of construction. It currently houses facilities that show students how to grow organic vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit.

Future developments for the park include a greenhouse and man-made rain forest.

“The Equestrian Center is deeply rooted in the Burbank community,” said Jana Olson Collins, equestrian center spokeswoman. “This is the school’s way to show its appreciation.”
