ELECTION FEVER? Officials have tallied the final count on the number of registered voters for Tuesday’s election: It’s slightly higher than for the June primary, but below the 1992 fall numbers. Republicans are still well ahead of Democrats, by more than 200,000. . . . Where do all these voters live? Anaheim has the most, at 103,959. Huntington Beach is second at 103,363. And Santa Ana is No. 3 at 70,219.

SOURCE OF PAIN: The struggles of black football players is the subject of Sunday’s “This Is the NFL” (Channel 11, 8:30 a.m.). The program notes that the Los Angeles Rams broke the color barrier in 1946 when Kenny Washington joined the team. . . . One poignant moment comes from Hall of Famer and current Rams broadcaster Deacon Jones: “Humiliation is walking past five upscale white schools and going to the little, old, black two-room shack down the street . . . They made you believe you were less than a man. So, you’re constantly trying to prove yourself.”

ECUMENICAL MISSION: Catholics founded Mission San Juan Capistrano. But today, the Catholic mission hosts 500 people from different religions for a diversity fair. It begins with a Jewish Sabbath Service. Workshops on Hindu, Buddhist, Bahai, Catholic and Protestant faiths will be offered. Preregistration interest was high for Islam and Muslims sessions. . . . Says mission administrator Gerald J. Miller: “If you wanted to know about them, where else would you go?”

MUSEUM BLUES: Most of the blues at art museums are in the hues of the artists’ visions hanging on the walls. But tonight at the Fullerton Museum Center--which emphasizes that it’s more than an art museum--there will be the blues you can tap your foot to. . . . Harmonica Fats and the Bernie Pearl Blues Band will play a sold-out gig in its auditorium. Says curator Lynn LaBat: “We do these things to draw people to see the museum, but we also want to add cultural value to the community.”
