Baseball Awards Not Even Halfway Deserved
How exciting for baseball fans! We are surrounded by announcements for MVP, rookie of the year and Cy Young Awards for 1994. How exciting for the players, as well, as they accept these prestigious awards, albeit for barely more than a half-season of exemplary performance. Just how many half-seasons did Cy Young pitch, anyway?
Issuance of these awards in one of baseball’s darkest seasons is an insult to the well deserved winners of the past.
