For the first time in its 151-year history, the famed Tivoli amusement park will open its doors under the twinkle of the Nordic winter darkness.

For several weeks in December and November, the park will open for a holiday fair where visitors can buy presents, paper decorations and Christmas trees.

The park’s other attractions--roller coasters, a Ferris wheel and shooting galleries--will be closed.

Tivoli was built in 1843, on the ramparts that once surrounded medieval Copenhagen. The Danish capital has since grown around Tivoli, one of the world’s oldest amusement parks.

The park will open from Nov. 18 to Dec. 31, with the exception of Dec. 23-25.
