One Time When The Truth Hurt

Share

What a cheap shot (“Verbatim,” Palm Latitudes, Oct. 2)! So Castle Rock Entertainment has the integrity to announce upfront its screening policy of overbooking, expressing on its invitation an approach that the other studios practice, yet rarely confess to. And it is Castle Rock that gets slammed.

As one who has been turned away more than once at overbooked screenings, I’d much rather be told the truth than drive halfway across town, only to be sent home because studio marketing executives grossly overbooked to ensure a full house.

Perhaps Castle Rock’s invitation need not have been so blunt, but the company deserves credit for its honesty, a quality in short supply in the biz.
