It might not have the same sense of history as the Berlin Wall or the Great Wall of China.
But to Rossmoor residents, a 1 1/2-mile red brick wall that surrounds their community is special.
In recent years, the 36-year-old wall has fallen on hard times. A section of the wall collapsed during a 1992 earthquake. Other portions are in danger of toppling as well.
On Tuesday, Rossmoor voters are being asked to put their money where their heart is. Measure K and Measure L would authorize the Rossmoor Community Services District to maintain the wall and charge property owners $1.25 a month in a special tax to pay for the upkeep.

A sports memorabilia auction for the Make-A-Wish Foundation featuring autographed jerseys, balls, hockey sticks and pucks begins at 6 p.m. at Legends Sports Bar & Restaurant in Costa Mesa.
The auction will take place during the “Monday Night Football” game. All proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County, which grants the wishes of children suffering from terminal or life-threatening illnesses. Information: (714) 476-9474.
