Police Arrest Man in Youth’s Shooting
A Garden Grove man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder early Sunday after allegedly shooting a juvenile in the chest during a fight in Buena Clinton, police said.
Norberto Leon, 23, was arrested at his apartment, at 13412 Clinton St., shortly after the 12:30 p.m. shooting, said Sgt. Scott Watson of the Garden Grove Police Department.
Watson said Leon pulled out a handgun and shot the boy, who lives in Garden Grove, in the midst of a fight among three or four people in a carport in the 12700 block of Keel Avenue. The boy was shot once in the chest and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in stable condition, Watson said.
The victim was not identified because of his age. Watson said the shooting was not considered to be gang related.
