NBA ROUNDUP : Warriors Sign Rogers, Defeat Heat, 121-114

On a day when Golden State finally signed first-round draft choice Carlos Rogers, Latrell Sprewell scored 29 points and Tim Hardaway 19 to lead the Warriors to a 121-114 victory Tuesday over the Miami Heat in Oakland.

Glen Rice scored 31 points to lead Miami.

Rogers, a 6-foot-11 forward-center, signed a nine-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the agreement provides him with an option to become a restricted free agent after three seasons.

The Warriors acquired the rights to Rogers from Seattle along with Ricky Pierce and two 1995 second-round draft picks. The Warriors gave up Sarunas Marciulionis and Byron Houston.

Detroit 126, Minnesota 112--Joe Dumars tied the NBA record for most three-pointers in a game, making 10 and scoring 40 points as the Pistons defeated the Timberwolves in Auburn Hills, Mich.

He tied the record set by Brian Shaw of the the Miami Heat on April 3, 1993.

Houston 100, Cleveland 98--Hakeem Olajuwon scored 21 points, surpassing Calvin Murphy as the leading scorer in Rocket history with 17,962, and made a baseline jumper with 3.1 seconds left in a victory in Cleveland.

Denver 115, Dallas 107--Dikembe Mutombo had 12 points, 14 rebounds and 11 blocks in a victory at Dallas.
