NEW FIGHT: Quit horsing around. That’s the word from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers to Eddie J. Milligan, above, operator of Hansen Dam Equestrian Center. This time, the fight’s over a biological buffer zone the corps wants established in one of the center’s parking lots (B5). . . . At a Universal City lunch Friday, Archbishop John Foley, in charge of TV and film for the Vatican, said Pope John Paul II won’t do TV interviews, even to plug his hot new book, “Crossing the Threshold of Hope.” . . . Says Foley: “The Pope does not feel secure that translations will always capture the nuances of what he’s saying.”
