VH1 Names Corradina to Head Programming and Production

VH1 has named Linda Corradina senior vice president of programming and production. She will be responsible for overall programming strategy at the network, which is undergoing a face lift.

Corradina was previously senior vice president and

executive producer of news and specials at MTV. VH1 and MTV are divisions of Viacom Inc.

* Dawn Steinberg has been named casting director at Big Ticket Television. She was previously director of prime-time and daytime casting at CBS television in New York. Big Ticket, a subsidiary of Spelling Entertainment Group, develops comedies for network, cable and first-run syndication.

* Raul Diaz de Leon is the new director of human resources, affirmative action and equal employment opportunity at MCA/Universal. He previously was with the Human Resources Division of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

* Erik Sorenson has been named executive producer of “Day & Date,” a syndicated news program being developed by Westinghouse’s Group W Productions and CBS. Sorenson has worked at CBS for 14 years.

* Jim Ricks is the new vice president of Eastern sales for Starcom Entertainment.

* Noranne Frisby has been elevated to senior vice president of the Central region for MGM Domestic Television’s Distribution, and Bob Greenstein has been promoted to senior vice president of the Eastern region. David Steinfeld has been named manager of the Midwestern division. Ree Thelen will manage the Central region.

* Victor R. Heman, program director at KABC-TV in Los Angeles, has been named director of programming of Interactive Network Inc.

* William Petraisch has been appointed vice president of legal affairs for 20th Century Fox.

* MCA Concerts Inc. has promoted John Van Zeebroeck to vice president of operations.

* Joel Johnston has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of J&G; Productions, and Michael Kahane has joined the company as executive vice president and chief creative director.

* Matthew Fladell has joined the law firm Wolf, Rifkin & Shapiro.
