SOUTH-CENTRAL : Redevelopment Is Topic of Meeting
A community meeting to outline a recommendation to establish a redevelopment project in a riot- and earthquake-damaged area of South-Central will be held Dec. 6 at the Hubert Humphrey Health Center.
Residents, property owners, business people and community leaders are asked to attend the 5:45 p.m. meeting in the center’s auditorium at 5850 Main St. The meeting is hosted by the City Council District 9 Community Advisory Committee. Councilwoman Rita Walters and members of her staff are scheduled to attend.
The redevelopment project would target a 5,600-acre area bounded by the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, 84th Street, Alameda Street and Vermont Avenue. It would aim to revitalize commercial and industrial areas.
